Plants Vs. Zombies Confirmed For XBLA This Year

Here's something you might not know about me: I'm always looking for excuses to play more Plants vs. Zombies. With confirmation of recent rumors of a console port of the game, PopCap has given me a great excuse all over again.

I've always assumed that Plants vs. Zombies is on the way to Xbox Live Arcade eventually, but serious rumors started swirling this week with news that a 360 version of PopCap's lawn defense game had been rated by the German rating board. Now, speaking to The Sixth Axis, PopCap has confirmed the port's existence.

PopCap international PR director Cathy Orr confirmed that an Xbox Live Arcade version of Plants vs. Zombies will be out some time this year, although she had no specific date to point to and also could not confirm whether the game will also make its way to the PlayStation Network.

So there it is. Before 2010 ends, I'll be setting up my defenses for yet another horde of brain-hungry zombies...this time with Achievements!
