PlayStation Blog Offering Up Fortune Hunter Edition

by Meagan Marie on Nov 05, 2009 at 03:47 AM

We recently gave away fifteen of the ultra-exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Editions. Only 200 of these gems were made, meaning those who were lucky enough to snag one has a lifelong bragging point on their hands.

If you didn’t manage to get your mitts on one, like the majority of us, the official PlayStation Blog is offering up one more for the taking. The journey won’t be easy, though.

Those who wish to enter need to venture into the new Uncharted 2 game space in PlayStation Home between 8:00 am PT on Thursday (today) and 12:00 pm PT on Friday (tomorrow). Once there, the challenge is to play the Mask  Mayhem mini-game and obtain the highest score, thus dominating the leaderboard, by assembling Ganesh the quickest. Topping the list will net you the exclusive prize. The leaderboards have been wiped clean as of this morning, waiting for some dedicated fan to jump in and dominate. It is worth noting that you must be a U.S. resident at least 18 years of age to enter and win. You can find all the official rules here.

Included in the Fortune Hunter Edition is the game, a replica of the Phurba Dagger with stand, an art book autographed by the development team, a “ton of downloads” and the official strategy guide. Everything comes packaged together in a giant shell modeled after an aging book.

What is more interesting, and perhaps more newsworthy, is why the Fortune Hunter Edition is so sought after. The game is phenomenal and has garnered legions of fans. But in reality, this is why the giveaway is such a big deal. We saw them flying off eBay last week for $3000 a pop. Not that we condone selling such a rare treasure.

Anyone plan on entering the contest?
