Test Chamber – The Out-Of-Nowhere Pokémon Duel
This morning, The Pokémon Company surpise-released a new free-to-player Pokémon mobile game. We downloaded it immediately, played a round, and ran to the studio to record our initial impressions.
The game takes a few cues from the popular Clash Royale. It's a player vs. player strategy game, which puts it in the same genre, and has similar micro-transaction implementation, but is far from a clone. We have our reservations about the game, and the Android users in the office are having trouble getting it working, but there might be some potential here.
Join myself, Dan Tack, and Wade Wojcik as we take a look at what the game has to offer, and whether or not it can compete with the Pokémon Go juggernaut.
