Weekend Warrior – Setting A Course For E3!

by Derek Swinhart on Jun 08, 2018 at 07:00 PM

E3 is upon us! That means the G.I. staff doesn’t have really have a weekend, but we’re celebrating it, all the same.

Be sure to follow all of Game Informer’s E3 coverage at our E3 2018 hub, and as always, share your weekend plans with us in the comments below. Let us know what you’re most excited for this E3, and what crazy announcements you’re hoping to see!

Imran Khan (@imranzomg) – This weekend is all E3 prep, but I’ve been preparing some games to keep me sane. I finished Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and immediately started over. I’ve also been in a very Dragon Quest-aesthetic mood, so I bought Dragon Quest Builders on the Switch to hear Dragon Quest sounds played at me while I do relaxing things. This is going to be a long week, but I’m determined to enjoy it.

Brian Shea (@brianpshea) – I’m gearing up for E3 most of this weekend, but when I’m not packing or covering the press conferences, I’ll likely be playing Overwatch, Marvel Strike Force, Crossing Souls, or Yakuza Kiwami. During my travel, I’m looking forward to playing either Final Fantasy VI on my Vita, or Pokémon Quest or the Breath of the Wild DLC on Switch.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I’m already in L.A. for E3! Why am I here so early? I played Picross on the plane.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – This weekend I’m hoping to play more of this early-access survival game called The Raft on Steam, and then I should also probably dive into Hitman for the first time since the sequel’s coming out and all… I’m also desperate for Leo’s approval and that seems like the easiest way to get it. We’ll also be working in the office and streaming out the press conferences throughout the weekend, so be sure to follow us on Twitch or YouTube and watch the big show alongside us!

Daniel Tack (@dantack) – E3

Derek Swinhart (@Derek_Swinhart) – I will be working, E3 with the home team and the other interns.  It will be my first E3 in any official press capacity, so I am totally calm and collected obviously. My plan is to also cram as much Destiny 2 into my eyeballs as possible in preparation for Forsaken (Yes, I understand that I might be planning a little bit in advance).

Camden Jones (@CCJ1997) – This weekend, I’ll be working on E3 news with the G.I. team. It’s my first time covering E3, so I’m both excited and terrified. When I’m not doing that, I’ll probably be playing Battlefront II or Destiny 2.

Jacob Geller (@yacobg42) – This weekend I'm going to spend an evening drinking beer and trying to (probably unsuccessfully) get into Dragon's Dogma. That's about it, because all other waking hours will be spent watching those sweet sweet E3 press conferences.

Ben Reeves (@BenjaminReeves) – I don't know. I'll figure something out.
