Specifically, playing the game helps out researchers putting together actual scientific applications by utilizing date harnessed from mapping microbes. Pretty wild, hunh? The experience is rooted within gut microbes and DNA and all kinds of cool stuff. What it all amounts to is that you're playing a game and solving puzzles, which helps map the human gut microbiome.
