Chris Evans Tweets Wistful Message After Wrapping Latest Avengers Movie

by Imran Khan on Oct 04, 2018 at 03:10 PM

The following story contains publicly known information about the next Avengers movie officially released by the actors and creators. Not everyone keeps up on that, though, so if you don't want to know anything, turn away now.

After this year's Infinity War, fans have been eager to see how the ending of the movie resolves itself with 2019's release of the next Avengers movie. The Infinity War follow-up ends the first major arc of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means some actors are also retiring from roles they've played for years. Chris Evans, who has played Captain America since the 2011 film introducing him to the MCU, has been vocal about only seeing the character out until the end of the arc.

The next Avengers movie wrapped up filming today, leaving Evans feeling wistful about the role.

While this definitely sounds like a final note, it is important that it's far from confirmation that anything will happen to Captain America or that he will hang up the costume. While Rogers has had dalliances with successors in the comics, and Evans has expressed a desire to go into directing, the allure of being Captain America in a multi-billion dollar series is likely pretty strong.

We'll know for sure when the next Avengers movie releases in May.
