Weekend Warrior 8/15/14

by Dimitri Gedevanishvili on Aug 15, 2014 at 12:00 PM

It's the weekend again! We're also sad to say that this is the last Weekend Warrior you're going to be seeing from this summer's team of interns. Though we're sad to say goodbye, that doesn't mean we're ever going to stop playing video games – and this weekend is not an exception. As always, let us know what you all are doing this weekend in the comments.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I'm hoping to continue playing The Last of Us on PS4. I'm finally getting into the swing of things with that game, but I don't know if I'm at the point yet where I'm really eager to live in that world again. Outside of that, I just built my first PC last night (with the help of Game Informer's support specialist Jeff Myhre), and so I'm looking forward to pushing it to its limits with some high-end games. I also want to catch up on the grab bag of other smaller games that wouldn't boot up on my old laptop for some reason like Luftrausers. Have a good weekend!

Jeff Marchiafava: I'm about to head off on a weeklong vacation to a cabin in the woods, and without television or Internet access, the only games I'll be playing are board games. I'll also spend a fair amount of time eating, drinking, and swimming – though maybe not in that order – and plan on getting in more than a few lazy naps. What else are summer vacations for?

Jeff Cork: I'll probably be spending too much time playing Diablo III on my PS3 as I wait for the PS4 version to hit next week. Being able to export characters across generations is the best thing, since I don't feel like I'm wasting time. Well, not more time than I ordinarily would be playing video games. I'm also planning to play some Pinball FX 2 on Xbox One now that it's out. Importing previously purchased content is another best thing.

Joe Juba: I'm borrowing the review copy of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for PS4 this weekend. I never played the game on PC for some reason, despite being a fan of action/RPGs in general. I had a fun co-op session with Miller and Andy last night, so I'm looking forward to even more demon slaying. I've also still got my game of Rogue Legacy going; I've beaten the four area bosses, so I just need to see what's behind the big door.

Harry Mackin: I probably won't have much time for video games this week, but if I do I'll be playing either Uncharted or Uncharted 2 and slogging through my summer backlog. I'm quickly losing motivation to play any of the games I'm trying to get through, however. I'm also on an RPG kick, having just started a playthrough of the remastered version of Tales of Symphonia with a friend, so I might dig up an old PS1 classic just for fun. Have a good rest of the summer, and don't give up – the drought is almost over.

Wayne Stainrook: Probably Netflix, cartoons, potato chips. I haven't thought that far ahead yet.

Dimitri Gedevanishvili: This is my last weekend in Minnesota before I move back to Washington! I definitely am sad to go as this has been one of the best experiences of my life for a lot of reasons. I'm hoping to get to see some more of the Twin Cities while I'm still here, but given my nature, I might just settle down and play a good amount of The Last of Us Remastered. If time allows for it and I'm feeling extra adventurous, I might pull up Diablo III on my PC to prepare me for the Ultimate Evil Edition releasing next week. Have a great weekend.
