Not many people played the original Zombie-themed RTS for Sony’s PSP, but that didn’t stop the sequel, Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov's Revenge, from catching our eye at this year’s GDC.

In Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov's Revenge, players control a roving band of diverse zombies who wander the streets corrupting buildings and devouring city officials. As you attack a building you convert them over to your control, which gives you more zombies to use. Special buildings allow you to train new types of zombies such as the sword-welding samurai zombies, garbage zombies who attack at range by throwing old TVs and lamppost, and radioactive cleaner zombies who explode on enemy contact and deal massive area damage.

Players also control a mobile base that spawns new zombies and a larger tank character who has special skills – such as area effect attacks and dash moves, which can be deployed using the d-pad.

The game is not only cross-play compatible for both PS3 and PS Vita, but it’s also cross-buy, so if you buy one copy of the game, you’ll have both. The game releases on April 30 for $9.99, and we had enough fun infecting the citizens of just one map that we’re happy we don’t have to wait long to find out how the rest of the game is.
