The world has changed since XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Humanity is on the defensive, the aliens are in control, and combat has gotten much more cinematic.
In this 10-minuted video, you can check out Firaxis’ entire E3 demo. The mission puts a four-person team of XCOM operatives on a sabotage mission to dismantle a symbolic statue.
You’ll notice at the start that the team’s presence is hidden. Advent forces don’t know you’re in the area, so it’s up to you to decide when to make yourself known.
We also get a look at some of the terrifying new enemy types, including the snake soldier featured in the announcement trailer. As for the big guys that show up at the end, I suspect they’ll take a beating before going down.
