Everything we’ve seen of Total War: Warhammer so far has been about the real-time strategy battles. Today we get a good look at the campaign, as Creative Assembly takes us through part of the Orc’s quest to dominate the Old World.

In between the real-time battles, you’ll move troops around the map, conquer settlements, build structures, and upgrade your forces. In the video below, you’ll see how that works, and how Total War: Warhammer connects to the tabletop experience.

Each race has a different tech tree, and each champion has its own skill progression. Some of those upgrades drastically change how you’ll use that hero in battle. You’ll also note that you can auto-resolve battles, putting things in the hands of the AI.

There's also another look at the game from a different perspective. You can check out a brief bit of the Empire's campaign below.

Total War: Warhammer will be out on April 28 for PC. For more, check out our previous coverage.
