Anticipation for CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been high ever since its Game Informer reveal in March 2013 . Despite multiple delays, that enthusiasm continues to mount as the developer reveals the game’s second playable character, Ciri.

Ciri will figure into Wild Hunt’s plot in a big way; she’s descended from an Elven bloodline long thought lost to time. What’s more, she factors into an ancient prophecy and is said to harbor a mythical power inside her. That makes her something of a hot commodity in Nilfgaard. Not only is Geralt trying to find her, she’s also got the Empire and the Wild Hunt on her tail as well.

Ciri is just as formidable as Geralt in combat and has a few unique abilities of her own. Namely, she can blink, or teleport, short distances, giving her an element of unpredictability in close encounters.

There will, however, be limitations to how much you can play as Ciri. CD Projekt Red didn’t disclose specific details as to these restrictions, but adds the reminder that although Ciri opens up new narrative possibilities, Wild Hunt is still Geralt’s story.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out on May 19, 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
