EA's upcoming sci-fi shooter is mounting a frontal assault on a beyond-crowded genre, but this extensive video look at its four-player co-op chops suggests it might have a fighting chance.
Among the notable things visible in the video below:
- Holographic icons over allies that seem to indicate who needs to be healed
- A cool holographic HUD on weapons that shows ammo/clip counts
- Several *** first-person melee takedowns
- Two "lieutenant" bosses that absorb more bullets than a Call of Duty protagonist
Every time I think about Syndicate, I think about how it's doomed to fail in such a saturated marketplace. Every time I see it in action, I badly want to play it – especially with the awesome Mirror's Edge kind of vibe I get from the first-person animations in this trailer.
We'll have to see how it all turns out when Syndicate comes out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 21.
