Sublevel Zero
Inspired by roguelikes and six-degree-of-freedom shooters like Descent, indie studio Sublevel Zero has just announced a procedurally generated shooter called Sublevel Zero.
Sublevel Zero is a first-person shooter that will feature classic roguelike elements such as permadeath and crafting set in a universe where reality is falling apart. Players will pilot a lone gunship and loot and craft ancient technology which holds the key to your clan’s survival. The game will also feature VR functionality, so that should be confusing. It also features some sweet Tron music.
“Sublevel Zero has been a special project since the initial prototype," says artist Gary Lloyd. "I’ve always had an appreciation for low-poly graphics and '90s era classics and it’s awesome to be working with Mastertronic to bring the game to Steam. Building the game has been an amazing experience so far, with overwhelmingly positive responses from fellow gamers. It is very humbling and it’s great to finally reveal our progress.”
Sublevel Zero is set for release on PC, Mac, and Linux later this summer.
