Attendees of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo can see two new Skylanders: Swap Force Characters in action at Activision's booth. Both of these new faces are a part of the Swap Force, meaning players can switch out their legs with other Swap Force characters to create new combinations. We talked to Lou Studdard, Swap Force's associate producer, about both of these characters and what players can expect from them in this fall's upcoming game.

Hot Loop
Element
Magic
Swap Ability Teleport
Phrase "Let's ruffle some feathers!"
"Before becoming a Skylander, Hoot Loop was a powerful magician in Skylands’ most famous circus, Studdert says. "He has a magic staff which he uses to attack with bursts of magic, and hypnotic eyes which he can use to slow enemies down – making them easier to strike. Those abilities are tied to his upper half. But since he is one of the SWAP Force characters, he also has special abilities tied to the lower half of his body, which can be mixed and matched with other SWAP Force characters.  These lower half abilities revolve around magic hoop rings that hover beneath his feet, which he can use to teleport to other locations. This ability can be used defensively, to evade enemies, or as a surprise attack!

Free Ranger
Element Air
Swap Ability Spin
Phrase "Whip up a storm!"
Studdert calls Free Ranger Skylands greatest stormchaser. "He is one of the new SWAP Force Skylanders, which means that the upper and lower halves of his body can be swapped out with other SWAP Force Skylanders characters – allowing players to create their own favorite combinations. As a Skylander of the Air Element, both his upper and lower halves have storm-related powers. For his upper half, Free Ranger wields two unique blades that shoot gusts of wind when completing combos. He can also shoot lightning from his eyes! For his lower half, Free Ranger can whip up a whirling tornado, which can be used to throw enemies around."
