Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell
At PAX, we had the opportunity to step into the very fashionable shoes of Johnny Gat, the Saints number one enforcer. In his latest adventure, Johnny is on a noble quest to… shoot the devil in the face. Seems legit.
In a new narrated walkthrough, senior producer Jim Boone shows off some of the new features of this devilish take on the Saints Row series. There are new weapons inspired by the seven deadly sins, including the sloth-themed Armchair-a-Geddon.
This bad*** Barcalounger has twin chain guns and a barrage of missiles. It was one of the more creative and enjoyable weapons we got our hands on.
We also get a look at a new activity, the Rambulance. Since Johnny is in Hell, this vehicle isn’t designed to help people. The object of the mini-game is to run over the “husks” wandering the streets.
You can also see the new flight mechanics in action. This feature differs from Saints Row IV’s glide as you can climb and flap to gain more speed.
The video also demonstrates Johnny’s ability to summon imps. Once on the field, these little devils can explode, taking your enemies with them.
We’ll be able to go to hell on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. The title is due out on January 27, 2015.
