Frontier Developments has released its third developer diary for its upcoming roller coaster sim, Planet Coaster. You can watch the first two developer diaries here and here.

The video details the process of building and customizing coasters, as well as shaping your park and maximizing revenue from visitors. The game’s new track building system is designed with the simplicity that genre newcomers need as well as the intricacy that veterans want.

Planet Coaster will be Frontier’s next self-published game, after 2014’s well-received Elite: Dangerous. The upcoming sim was announced at last year’s E3 as a spiritual successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Frontier Developments is known for its work on the acclaimed Roller Coaster series and was also developing Atari’s Roller Coaster Tycoon World, but left the project for unknown reasons.

Planet Coaster is targeted for release on PC later this year.
