A new video from Hangar 13 puts emphasis on the revamped driving mechanics of Mafia III, and how they are inspired by 1960s era Hollywood films such as Steve McQueen's Bullitt.

In the video, design director Matthias Worch describes the new mechanics as resembling "Hollywood action driving," as if you were a stunt driver starring in a blockbuster movie. Each car is meant to feel authentic and has a certain heaviness, which allows for drifting around corners and crashing into things with force. Different surfaces, from gravel to muddy roads, will also affect how your car controls.

Mafia III arrives on October 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Click the banner below to be directed to our extensive coverage from our November cover story, and read five things we learned from our hands-on session with the game.
