By now, most people know that the Homefront series takes a look at what could happen if the United States was invaded and defeated by North Korean military forces. The premise is certainly an interesting one, but many would agree that it wasn't explored thoroughly enough in the first game of the series, 2011's Homefront. With Homefront: The Revolution, Deep Silver and developer Dambuster Studios is looking to dive deeper into the lore and backstory of the series.

At the center of this exploration of the story is a mysterious company called APEX. The company is described as Apple, if Apple acted like an extension of the government. According to a mock press release for the company that we received, APEX was founded in 1973 as a North Korean start-up and has since grown to the world's largest corporation, posting a net income of $804.3 billion on yearly revenues of $2.34 trillion.

If you'd like to learn more about APEX, you can see a fake ad for the company below.

To allow you to further familiarize yourself with the general lore of the Homefront series, Deep Silver has launched a site dedicated to giving players a deeper look at the events prior to the The Revolution beginning with the end of the Korean war in 1953 leading all the way to the year 2029. Homefront: The Revolution launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 17.
