Hex Entertainment has updated the single-player portion of HEX: Shards of Fate. The digital trading card MMO experience now features a new single-player PvE mode that allows for AI battles thanks to the new Frost Ring Arena update.

The introduction of Frost Ring Arena also brings new cards, equipment, and spells to the world of HEX: Shards of Fate. The update also adds over 30 different AI enemies for players to test their skills against. Plus, the update gives players a shot at the new M.C. challenges. M.C. challenges randomly occur in Frost Ring Arena and issue bonus challenges to players. If players are able to meet these added challenges, they will receive bonus buffs during their next boss encounter.

Hex Entertainment also released a new trailer for Frost Ring Arena, which can be viewed below.

In addition, Hex Entertainment and Gameforge have announced a new global online tournament for 2015 with a purse that will total at least $100,000. To become eligible for the tournament, players must be registered to either the North American or European servers and earn qualification points through participation in daily tournament play. Those who earn 10 qualifier points will automatically receive an invite to a qualifier tournament that will determine the competitors in the HEX Invitational event.

HEX: Shards of Fate was funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $2 million thanks to more than 17,000 backers. HEX: Shards of Fate is currently in beta.
