Furi is taking what we love from boss battle-driven games like Shadow of the Colossus and mixing them with an '80s aesthetic reminiscent of Far Cry: Blood Dragon. The newest gameplay trailer focuses on the quick-paced and colorful fights that you'll encounter frequently through the game. The trailer below highlights one of the game's fierce bosses, who uses camouflage, lasers, drones, and even controls the raising and lowering of barriers in the arena.
Creative director Emeric Thoa describes Furi in his post on the PlayStation Blog as "simple and deep." The game has a "simple formula" but requires a wide range of specific moves to pinpoint a boss' weaknesses and frailties. These fights can be as quick as 10 minutes or as long as one hour, depending on your play style.
Furi is expected for a 2016 release on PlayStation 4 and PC, but no specific date has been issued yet.
