At Gamescom, EA Sports and developer EA Canada unveiled FIFA 13's new Match Day feature, which brings what happens in real-life into the game.

Arguably the most interesting aspect of the feature is that as you play specifically in the Match Day mode (which is its own tab in the main menu), the commentators will talk about the real-world news of your club, whether that's an injury, suspension, or team gossip. At Electronic Arts' Gamescom press conference, they showed a brief example of the new commentary in action, and it was cool to hear the announcers weave in team news with regular talk about what was going on the field.

Match Day also highlights games of the week from around the globe, your real-world club's upcoming fixtures,  and their current form, which changes the ratings of your players in the mode.

At the press conference, EA also mentioned some changes to its online mode (now called Seasons). It now contains 2-vs.-2 co-op, 10-game seasons with division titles for every division, as well as a virtual trophy case to show off your hardware.

Finally, the Ultimate Team mode's online is expanding as well to include multiple seasons, and promotion and relegation.

FIFA 13 comes out with these new features for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on September 25. Wii U and other consoles will be available on the same day, but EA hasn't announced if Match Day and other features in the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions will drop down to the myriad other systems that the title appears on.

The FIFA 13 demo appears on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on September 11.
