Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires
Koei Tecmo America announced today that the latest entry in its popular Dynasty Warriors series, Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, will arrive in North America on January 27, 2015. The tactical action expansion of Dynasty Warriors 8 will focus on the lives of its 83 playable characters, and will even let players create their own custom hero.
Instead of the linear mission based style of Dynasty Warriors proper, Empires lets you conquer Ancient China territory by territory, similar to a board game like Risk. You decide which battles to engage in, while simultaneously managing your army, resources, and economy.
Empires also avoids the traditional story telling style by letting you create your own character, developing his/her story through your gameplay rather than following one of the preexisting characters. Although the actual combat is still traditional Dynasty Warriors, the Empires modes add a bit of extra depth.
Speaking of battles, the game features 35 different maps, each of which can be altered by the passing of time. Exclusive to this game, you will have to battle through the changing of seasons, weather effects, and various forces of nature.
Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $49.99, and will be available digitally on PlayStation 3 for $39.99.
