With Doom still a few months off, we’re still learning about what the speedy, bloody first-person shooter has to offer. We explored quite a bit in our February 2016 issue, but there’s still more to uncover.

Today, id is talking about how hack modules work. These consumables confer a variety of effects, including displaying item respawn timers, pinging enemies on the map, and displaying health bars so you can sweep in for an easy kill.

Bethesda is clear to point out are not microtransaction driven. You’ll earn modules by playing. The idea is to give players enhanced awareness rather than more raw power or resilience.

Additionally, the Warpath mode was unveiled today. This is a roving King of the Hill type, with the capture point moving in a circle around the arena. Opposite it is a demon rune that can turn  you into a monster from the pit of hell. Players will end up fighting in laps around the environment, scrambling from one hot zone to the next.

Doom will be out on May 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For more, check out our coverage hub from February 2016.
