NIS America has released details about the all new battle systems coming to Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. The new features were first unveiled last year, but today's announcement explains each of the three new mechanics in detail.

Alliance Attacks resemble team attacks, but are only available when strong relationships have been formed between main characters and their teammates. If that bond is strong enough, main characters will be able to launch an Alliance Attack and dish out heavy damage. The second new battle mechanic, Revenge Mode, triggers additional stat bonuses when party members are either damaged or defeated. Overloads, the third new addition, can only be used when Revenge mode is active. Overloads are over-the-top attacks and skills each Overlord will be able to unleash on his or her enemies.

The above information isn't all Disgaea fans have to be excited about today. Along with the details about the new battle systems, NIS America has also announced that The Disgaea Triple Play Collection will be coming to North America later this year. The collection neatly fits Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, and Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness all on one disc and releases exclusively for PS3 on September 15.

Check out the gallery at the bottom of the post to see some of the new abilities coming to Disgaea 5 in action. Be sure to check out this trailer detailing the plot of the upcoming PS4 game as well.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance releases exclusively for the PS4 on October 9.
