Activision and Bungie made the choice to get out ahead of the busy week of E3 announcements, so several days before the show brought us the official reveal of Destiny: Rise of Iron. A number of interesting tidbits of info came out of that initial live stream, but many fans wondered if there might be some more detail coming at E3. However, with the exception of a few media interviews, Bungie has stayed mostly quietly during the big show. It seems likely Bungie is planning for additional reveals later in the summer.

Even so, Guardians aren’t being completely left out of the E3 fun, as a batch of official screenshots  provides a glimpse of some of what we can expect to see in Rise of Iron. The images  appear to show off the new Plaguelands zone on Earth, the new Devil Splicer enemies, and a number of up-close looks at weapons and armor players can aim to acquire.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is scheduled for release on September 20 for $29.99. For the first time, the new expansion will only be available on the new-gen consoles of PS4 and Xbox One.
