Dead Island: Epidemic, Deep Silver’s foray into the MOBA genre, is accepting registration for its upcoming closed beta. The developer describes Dead Island: Epidemic as a zombie online multiplayer battle arena game, pitting three teams of four players against each other in a battle for survival.

According to its website, Dead Island: Epidemic’s “core mode” involves the teams “battling it out in a competition to grab supplies, hold key points, outsmart the competition and blast through hordes of zombies.” Players control their hero’s movement directly with WASD controls and use the mouse to aim and fire. Furthermore, the game makes a point that there is no last hitting. Dead Island: Epidemic will also feature weapon crafting, a staple of the Dead Island series.

Newly registered players will receive exclusive in-game items and rewards over the course of the closed beta, which they can keep afterwards.

Dead Island: Epidemic will be a free-to-play PC title and currently has no announced release date.
