Centipede: Infestation
WayForward Technologies, the developer behind Contra 4 and 2009’s A Boy and His Blob, are ready to reboot another classic gaming franchise. Later this year WayForward hopes to bring Atari’s classic Centipede franchise into the 21st century with Centipede: Infestation for Nintendo’s 3DS.
Centipede: Infestation is a mix of action shooter and tower defense game styles. When an orphaned teenager named Max begins fighting his way through bug-infested wastelands, he meets a young woman named Maisy whose collection of seeds could hold the secret to bringing plant life back to their world. Players will have to grow their gardens and then defend them from swarms of mutated spiders, beetles, grubs, caterpillars, moths, and other boss-like insects.
Up to two players will be able to team up and use an arsenal of Lightning Orb Guns, Nuke Cannons, Freezethrowers as they make their way through the game’s 40 different stages. Check out the game’s announce trailer below.
