Publisher En Masse Entertainment has announced their new real-time strategy game, Battleplans. The game is in development at C4M and will have a closed beta on PC later this month.

Unlike other games in the RTS genre, Battleplans splits offensive battles and defensive planning into two different areas of the game. Players will attack resource-rich territories which are controlled by either other players or AI, and then come up with their own defensive strategies to protect their territory from other players in their absence. Get an idea of the process in the gallery below.

Battleplans is aiming to "set itself apart from other RTS titles by using simple, intuitive controls that allow players to focus on making quick decisions in the heat of battle instead of navigating endless menus." This approach is meant to reward the use of "battle tactics instead of button clicks."

The closed PC beta starts today, but you can sign-up for that here. Battleplans will be coming to PC, iOS, and Android devices later this spring.
