5th Cell, a developer known for the creative and charming Scribblenauts franchise, is departing from its roots. The studio has announced a new IP that for which it is seeking both investors and backers.

Anchors in the Drift is a departure from 5th Cell’s usual brand of development. The studio plans to release the action-RPG as a free-to-play game with collectible cards.

The cards are used as components to create moves for one of a number of warriors ripped from across time. These include Vikings, samurai, Romans, and Egyptian goddesses.

5th Cell is seeking $500,000 from investors and backers via the new Fig crowdfunding platform. The game is expected to be released mid-2016.
