Aaru’s Awakening
Aaru's Awakening began its life as a school project at the University of Reykjavík and went on to win the Icelandic Gaming Industry Game Creator competition. The prize gave developer Lumenox the funds it needed to create a full-fledged platformer, and now it is making its way to to PlayStation 4 and 3.
In the game, the protagonist can fling his soul from his body to relocate elsewhere. You will also be able to charge through certain obstacles and double jump. All of the game's art is hand-drawn, and as you can see in the trailer and screens in the gallery, it looks very sharp.
Aaru’s Awakening is coming to PlayStation 3 and 4 this summer, and maybe Vita in the future, though nothing has been decided yet. Marketing director Johann Ingi Gudjonsson wrote on the PlayStation blog about a possible Vita version, "Nothing official yet. But the Vita has really good hardware, a crisp screen and controls that would fit Aaru’s Awakening really well. So although it’s not official we don’t see a reason not to port it over."
