Each year during the summer game fest live showcase, host Geoff Keighley aims to end the show with a bang, often delivering a world premiere of one of the biggest games in the industry. This year, that final announcement was the unveiling of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third entry in the Final Fantasy Remake trilogy, which kicked off in 2020 but was originally revealed way back at E3 2015.

Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, took to the stage to reveal a ton of first details surrounding the highly anticipated conclusion to the remade role-playing game. Shortly thereafter, Hamaguchi sat down with Game Informer to dive deeper into what players should expect when Final Fantasy VII Revelation brings the story to a close early next year, as well as what to expect next from him.
