Pete Docter, the director behind Monsters, Inc., and Up, is my favorite creative lead at Pixar. I love the heart and emotion that he packs into his films. In his next film, Inside Out, Docter takes us inside the mind of a young girl named Riley. Her actions are fueled by animated emotions voiced by Amy Poehler (Joy), Bill Hader (Fear), Mindy Kaling (Disgust), Lewis Black (Anger), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). In the trailer below, you'll get a good look at how the emotions work together and guide their human host. The setup reminds me a little bit of the Enterprise bridge in Star Trek. Inside Out hits theaters June 19, 2015.
