Parting With The Collection

by Andrew Reiner on Sep 10, 2011 at 05:57 AM

Over the last two decades I've amassed a sizable video game collection. It doesn't come close to comparing in size to Game Informer's vault, but it has taken over a large portion of my house. You can't turn a corner without seeing a game or two. Most of my collection is locked away in boxes and hidden in the dark recesses of basement closets. These games deserve better homes. These games deserve to be played.

Rather than sell them, I've decided to give them away to charities and to you, the Game Informer reader. Every Sunday on my twitter account (@Andrew_Reiner) I'll be conducting contests and drawings with the hopes of finding better homes for these classic games. I'll try to post the day's giveaways around 5 PM CT.

Most of the games are for Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Genesis, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo 64, Saturn, Dreamcast, and GameCube. Many people think I'm crazy for doing this, but truthfully, I feel great about it. Just the thought that these titles might be played again puts a smile on my face.
