reader discussion

One of the major aspects of games that separate them from other mediums is the way players can express themselves by making choices. Many of those are mechanical ("should I upgrade my health or defense?") but many of them are narrative.

While many of these choices are black and white ("should you save or kill the Little Sisters in BioShock?"), but some of them can be layered and interesting, causing us to think twice, sometimes pausing the game for a bit.

So which choices in games gave you the most pause? Did you have sleep on the repercussions of the Genophage in Mass Effect when making the final choice? Did the Witcher 2's big choice between Roche and Iorveth in The Witcher 2 make you think twice? Let us know in the comments.
