Nintendo Hiring A Level Designer For The Next Zelda Game

by Imran Khan on May 07, 2018 at 01:08 PM

A job listing has popped up at Nintendo that indicates the company is staffing up for a new Legend of Zelda title.

The listing, which showed up on Nintendo's recruitment page, is looking for someone to work on dungeon design, encounters in the field, cutscenes, and even some enemies. The position is a contract job, so whoever does take on the level design position is working for the next Zelda game, but maybe not more than that.

Hiring for contract level design positions at this point indicates that a game is probably already in production and is hiring to shore up sections that could use some extra resources. If you're in Kyoto, have level design experience, you're confident in your Japanese, and have always wanted to work on a Zelda game, now's your shot.

Our Take
One of my only but still major complaints about Breath of the Wild is the lack of good dungeon design. Hopefully this listing indicates the next game in the series is going to be focusing on fixing those areas up.
