Destiny 2 Update Roadmap Released, Warmind DLC Coming May 8

Bungie has released a development roadmap for upcoming DLC and updates for Destiny 2. In the process, they let slip preparation plans for Destiny 2's next big piece of DLC.

Season 3 begins on May 8, launching alongside Warmind, Destiny 2's second DLC expansion. While Bungie didn't detail Warmind yet, they have announced a reveal stream for the game on April 24 on Twitch. Bungie's short description does reference new enemies, however, which should hopefully remedy the game's issues with enemy variety, even if only a slight alleviation.

The development roadmap also finally dates the weapon slot changes, now planned for September. Crucible changes are also coming soon, with all the maps for each expansion going into the same pool. This should significantly improve matchmaking, as it means more people trying to join the same kind of match.

Furthermore, Bungie elucidated on their plans for season 4, likely to begin this fall.

"Our goals for these features are to give you more control over how you configure your loadouts in Destiny 2 and give you more reasons to play the game over time," Bungie wrote. "We also want to bring back those exciting moments when you acquire the perfect weapon. To make this happen, updates like Weapon Randomization, Weapon Slot Changes, Gear Collections, and Records will be delivered to all players."

Our Take
Bungie has taken a while to learn to be more reactive to the community. Seasons 3 and 4 should show how much they've learned and discerning between what the community wants, what the game needs, and when those things coincide.
