Square Enix surprised everyone when it unceremoniously released the PC version of Chrono Trigger in February, but it turned out there was a reason for the muted unveiling – the game wasn't very good.

With its bad U.I. and smoothed pixels, the PC game is a port of the mobile version – not what fans wanted who had comfy memories of the beloved SNES original.

However, Square Enix has announced that the game is receiving numerous patches, the first of which (coming in the first half of April) gives players the option to switch to the title's original graphics.

To hear the indignation, check out Jeff Cork, Ben Hanson, and Leo Vader pillory the product in an edition of New Gameplay Today.

This is obviously welcome, and now fans are hoping that the company also gives people original graphics/font options for PC re-releases like Final Fantasy V & VI
