Epic Games Adding Live Record And Replay Features To Fortnite

by Matt Bertz on Mar 21, 2018 at 12:20 PM

Fortnite matches have no shortage of moments worth reliving, which is why Epic Games has fast-tracked a new live record and replay feature to the Unreal Engine 4.

Launching as a part of the 4.20 engine update this summer, Epic is integrating this new suite of tools for content creators in Fortnite that allows them to capture footage from matches, edit them with a comprehensive toolset featuring multiple camera angles, and then share them with friends via YouTube, Twitch, and social media platforms. To show off the new features, during its "State of Unreal" presentation Epic welcomed YouTube star Ali-A to the stage.

Epic may have integrated the live record and replay system into Fortnite first, but any studio that uses the engine will be able to integrate it into their game down the line.
