[Update] Developer Confirms It Is Not Working On PS4 Version Of MGS HD Collection

by Suriel Vazquez on Feb 11, 2018 at 12:47 PM

Update 2/11/2018: Armature has confirmed to Dualshockers that it is not working on a current-gen version of the collection. "Unfortunately this was simply a typo by one of our web developers an is neither a leak nor indication that the MGS HD Collection is coming to PS4," Armature Studios head of a business development Jonathan Zamkoff told the outlet. "PS4" is no longer listed as a platform for the MGS HD Collection on the company's portfolio website.

Original Story: There's a somewhat irritating lack of Metal Gear games on modern consoles, but a recent listing could hint at that being rectified pretty soon.

Armature, the developer of the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, currently lists "PS4" under the list of platforms it's developed the port on. This might hint at a future announcement of a PS4 version of the game. However, mistakes like this can happen, so take this tidbit with a grain of salt.

With Kojima out of Konami and working on Death Stranding and most of the spotlight currently falling on survival-oriented spinoff Metal Gear Survive, it makes sense of Konami to begin looking backwards for new revenue. We've reached out to Konami for a statement and will update this article should they reply.

Our Take
It'd be nice if the collection game to PS4, but I'd also like it on PC, please. Also, while I'm asking for Metal Gear things, I'd like a remake of the first Metal Gear (not Metal Gear Solid) on modern platforms that uses the MGSV engine. Thanks!
