Video Profiles Akira 'Akiman' Yasuda, One Of Gaming's Greatest Artists

by Suriel Vazquez on Feb 03, 2018 at 06:20 PM

If you're a fan of Street Fighter, Capcom's games, or the Turn A Gundam anime, you've probably seen the work Akira "Akiman" Yasuda. As the character designer behind Chun-Li, Guile, and more Street Fighters, the artist behind Final Fight, and many other classic Capcom games, he was instrumental in defining the look of many Capcom games throughout the years.

Documentary series Toco Toco TV recently sat down with Yasuda to get a long view of the artist's entire career, from his time designing Street Fighter characters to his current freelance lifestyle. He muses about his time in America working Red Dead Revolver, how that project made him quit working on games for a long time, and how Overwatch played a key role in bringing him back to the industry.
