SNES Classic Sells Over 4 Million Units
Nintendo has announced today in an earnings report that the SNES Classic has sold 4 million units, which is about double the NES Classics shipped last year.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima says they will continue to release SNES Classics to drive attention toward the Switch. "We view them as an opportunity to garner interest in Nintendo Switch from those who have not interacted with video games in a long time, or ever," Kimishima says.

Don't worry if you missed out getting an NES Classic, which has 30 games from the original Nintendo console. The company plans to ship more units of 2016's holiday holy grail this summer.

The NES Classic acted as an economic teacher for its predecessor, and thank goodness Nintendo heeded its lessons. The company has done much better with realizing the SNES is something people strongly desire, and selling double what they shipped with the NES shows it. I've walked into various retailers and on multiple occasions seen a dozen units of this awesome device.
