Awesome Games Done Quick Comes To A Close, Raising Over $2 Million

by Elise Favis on Jan 14, 2018 at 11:16 AM

Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 (AGDQ) has come to a close. The weeklong speedrunning raised a total of $2,263,508 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Donations are still coming in, but so far it's topped last year's donations by around $40,000. These donations come from over 32,000 people, and more than 130 of them donated over $1000. AGDQ had over 150 runs, finishing with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This final run was completed in almost five hours, without using amiibos and only going through the main quests. You can view a list of all the runs from the event by heading here.

In total, the Games Done Quick series has raised over $14.5 million for charity over the years with its many events.

Our Take
It's great to see that AGDQ continues to grow each year, setting new records with its donations. This year was even more successful than the last, and I'm excited to for the series' next event, Summer Games Done Quick 2018, which takes place from June 24 to July 1.
