PUBG Corporation Is Looking To Bring Battlegrounds To Every Platform

The CEO of PUBG Corp., the Bluehole subsidiary that handles all things related to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, has said that the company hopes to bring Battlegrounds to every platform.

CH Kim, PUBG Corporation's CEO, told InvenGlobal that the company is interested in bringing Battlegrounds to the PlayStation 4. The main problem, aside from the timed exclusivity "for some time" on the Xbox One, is that the PlayStation 4 has no early access/game preview program, which makes the company's release plans difficult.

"Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality," Kim said. "However, PS is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took 6 months more to launch even when it was already completed."

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds released on PC in Early Access in March 2017 and Xbox One Game Preview in December. The game officially left Steam Early Access a few days later on December 21.

Our Take
It's strange that Sony isn't able to make exceptions, when there are clearly incomplete games on the PlayStation store and clearly made an exception for Epic's Fortnite. Though with Microsoft's exclusivity deal, even if there were exceptions to be made, they might not be in a position to make them.
