What To Watch This Weekend: The Overwatch League, Capcom Cup, And Super Smash Bros.

It's a big week for esports! Many major games are having huge events this weekend, making for one jam-packed weekend. Here's what you can expect as you settle in for what could be a long Winter.

Major sports franchises have been buying into The Overwatch League, and we've been getting our first glimpse of what this multimillion-dollar competition will look like during its preseason. You can watch teams like the San Francisco Shock, London Spitfire, and more compete and see whether you want to invest in any of them! (Stream / Schedule)

It's also Capcom Cup weekend, and this year it's a two-fer: First, the Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Battle For the Stones tournament, which collects every past Evo champion for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, mashes them with six winners the infinity (which offer bracket and game-altering abilities throughout the tournament), and adds a few more qualifiers for kicks will wrap up tomorrow. Meanwhile, the world's most lucrative Street Fighter V tournament will be going on, as players who've qualified by winning tournaments throughout the year will be fighting for a total of $370,000 in prize money. (Stream and Schedule)

Both of these events, by the way, are part of the PlayStation Experience, which will feature several panels and surprises throughout the weekend. (Stream and Schedule)

Not to be outdone, Counter-Strike:Global Offensive is having a major tournament of its own, as the ESL Pro League's sixth season, which has a collective $750,000 prize pool, wraps up this weekend. (Stream / Schedule)

Also on the ESL front we have the Hearthstone Trinity Series finals, which pits several signed players from Complexity, Virtus Pro, Team Liquid, and more with a $150,000 prize pool on the line. (Stream / Schedule)

League of Legends is getting in on the action too, as Riot is having its All-Star event this weekend. Watch some of the best palyers in the world compete in both team and one-on-one tournaments. (Stream / Schedule)

You can also watch a high-stakes Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, where sixteen invited and community-chosen players will have a shot at part of the $10,000 prize pool. (Stream and Schedule)

Heroes of the Storm is having a major of their own, as teams from across the world compete in the Gold Club World Championship in Beijing, China, for a $300,000 prize pool. (Stream and Schedule)
