Ubisoft Teases Chocobo Mount For Assassin's Creed Origins

by Imran Khan on Dec 04, 2017 at 12:32 PM

You might remember how, a few months ago, Square-Enix and Ubisoft crossed over Final Fantasy XV and Assassin's Creed with a festival in FFXV's world celebrating Ubisoft's series. The two are now reversing direction and putting some Final Fantasy into Assassin's Creed Origins with a tease of a chocobo for Bayek.

The teaser image, which comes courtesy of Ubisoft's blog, teases a new surprise quest with a gift panning over what appears to be a chocobo tail. The chocobo, of course, is the large (often) flightless bird from the Final Fantasy series, usually used as a means of traveling vast swaths of land.

The new quest will come alongside the title update mentioned the other day, scheduled for some point in December. It would make for the second Final Fantasy XV crossover announced in as many months.

Our Take
Ubisoft is no stranger to Assassin's Creed crossovers, with things like in-jokes for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Ezio in Soul Calibur, but it's rare for the series to reciprocate. If the chocobo has some advantages as a mount, I am very excited to use it.
