Starcraft II Is Free-To-Play Now

At Blizzcon a few weeks ago, Blizzard announced that Starcraft II's Terran campaign, Wings of Liberty, is going free-to-play. Today, they pulled the lever and you can play the game's first campaign and multiplayer for free.

You can access the game through Battle.net to download, which gives you full access to the campaign, the full multiplayer ladder, and all the heroes up until level five. If you already own Wings of Liberty, Blizzard is tossing you the second campaign, Heart of the Swarm, for free.

The co-op has also been enhanced with new commanders and missions for people who want to play together.

The news of the game going live comes from Blizzard's Starcraft Twitter, who has been curiously comparing Starcraft II to other unnamed games in terms of hours to unlock commanders and microtransactions.
