Reader Discussion – How Do Games Connect You To Community?
With Miiverse closing down tonight forever, it marks one of the first major communities from a console manufacturer is shuttering.
The last few hours of the community are interesting, with a number of people lamenting the end of a community they spent years with and mourning all the time they invested into a service that has now shut down.
It has gotten me thinking about how many communities gaming has gotten me into, and connected me to people. People I know today I met through gaming over a decade ago, either playing games with them or talking about games with them. I am still part of communities that have gaming at their core.
