Sonic Forces, the newest 3D Sonic game from Sonic Team, has a demo on the Japanese eShop, which can be accessed by any region.

The demo is incredibly curiously set with a one-minute timer, only allowing sixty seconds to play. Players have three levels to choose from - a boss battle as Classic Sonic, Green Hill Zone as Modern Sonic, and Space Port as the Avatar. It is very difficult to get a beat on how it plays with the timer, but players are already trying to see how far they can get in the game's harsh time limit.

You need to log into the Switch using a Japanese profile, which is as simple as signing up on the Switch and choosing Japan as your region if you haven't already. The Switch version seems to run at 720p and 30 frames per second regardless of whether or not it is docked, so this one might be better played in handheld mode.

Our Take
The short demo timer makes this demo almost useless, but it is also genuinely fascinating that they even bothered to do that. It is a good thing to download for people who aren't sure if they are getting the Switch version or the higher-end ones.
