Koei Tecmo announced today that the sequel to their Attack on Titan title is coming to American shores in March of next year on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The sequel was announced fairly recently in Japan and is being fairly anticipated after the original came out and surprised players with its surprisingly competent swinging mechanics and Titan combat. While Attack on Titan is considered to be a musou (or Warriors) title, the gameplay differs greatly from games like Dynasty Warriors or the recently released Fire Emblem Warriors. In Attack on Titan, players swing around and do their best to get around Titans so they can zoom in and slice the napes of their necks for the kill.

Unfortunately, the original game's mission and level design could not keep up with the natural feel of its mechanics and it ran out of steam, so hopefully the sequel manages to outdo its predecessor. With more characters (and even a Create-a-Character option), Omega Force should have confidence to face the tougher challenges of improving the game's issues.

Our Take
Even some people who hate Warriors titles appreciated the mechanics of the last game, but the level design subverted the fun about halfway through the game. Hopefully Koei Tecmo also commits to a better translation for the sequel, as the stilted English translation of the first one was rough.
