The New Punisher Trailer Hunts The Truth And Reveals A Release Date

by Cody Mello-Klein on Oct 19, 2017 at 01:30 PM

After the events in Las Vegas, Marvel cancelled the panel for its upcoming violent vigilante series, The Punisher, from New York Comic Con. However, Marvel could only be delayed for so long: today The Punisher  got a new trailer and a release date. The series will hit Netflix on November 17, the same day that DC's Justice League arrives in theaters. Coincidence?

Unlike the last trailer, which focused on style and action over concrete plot details, this one offers more insight into the Punisher's story. The trailer delves deeper into Castle's time in the military, where he did terrible things for the government under the guise of serving his country. Castle clearly didn't end things well with his superiors. The death of his family and his eventual turn towards vigilante justice is all tied to the government organizations that now see him as a threat and a loose end.

And apparently Castle isn't the only one chasing vengeance. It looks like David Lieberman, a hacker who was used and abused by the government just like Castle, will join the Punisher on his quest for the truth. The trailer also shows a little bit more of Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah), a Department of Homeland Security agent whose investigation leads her straight into Castle's path, and Karen Page, who is trying to persuade Castle not to chase death. All of this makes The Punisher feel like a violent political conspiracy thriller, which should help further distinguish it from the rest of Marvel's Netflix series.

More bullets, brutality, and action scenes edited to Metallica's "One" close out the trailer before a November 17 release date is revealed. You can check out the full trailer below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
